FC Vorkuta – SC Scarborough
The race for the First Division title tightened even further with a 1-1 draw between FC Vorkuta and Scarborough SC Saturday night, while in one other match in the Canadian Soccer League, SC Waterloo scored late to defeat CSC Mississauga 1-0.
Scarborough struck early at Esther Shiner Stadium when Atif Hammud Ali tapped in a rebound in the second minute of the match for a 1-0 lead that held to the interval.
Vorkuta tied the game 1-1 at 67 minutes, a well-placed drive inside the far post by substitute midfielder Serhii Ursulenko who took a perfect one touch pass from Sergii Ivliev.
It was a well-played encounter in doubt until the final whistle. The result moves Vorkuta, with a 7-1-2 WLT record for 23 points into a tie for top spot with FC Ukraine United in the CSL First Division, while Scarborough are in third position in the standings with a 6-2-3 record for 21 points.

Our “B” Division team played an away game vs SC Scarborough the same day @ 1 pm.
It was a confident 7:1 win for FC Vorkuta. Result was secured by commanding hat-trick by CSL “B” division leading goal scorer Kristijan Kezic, two goals by Dmytro Polyuhanych and goals by Serhii Melnyk and Valerii Doroshenko.

Oleg Lutkov, a well-known Ukrainian specialist, former mentor of Zaporizhzhya Metallurg and Kryvbas, continue his coaching career in Canada. The 50-year-old coach has headed the FC Vorkuta team.
